View on Africa: Eritrea coming in from the cold?
Date: 28 September 2016
Time: 11h00 - 12h00
Venue: Online via VoiceBoxer

Eritrea is slowly restoring relations with countries in Europe and the Gulf, which may bring short-term solutions for its ailing economy. But Eritrea’s future is still uncertain and the country poses serious security concerns for the Horn of Africa. The international community must monitor progress and be ready to develop more sustainable strategies for engaging with Eritrea.

This View on Africa will be presented by Berouk Mesfin, a senior researcher based in ISS Addis Ababa. He will explain Eritrea’s recent foreign policy initiatives and their implications.
